VULCAN is a well-known name in Poland’s education sector. It offers innovative solutions to enhance communication, streamline processes, and improve learning experiences. To connect students, teachers, and parents in one place, they wanted to develop a mobile application. The app’s main objectives were to allow students to plan their academics, parents to track their child’s progress, and teachers to establish seamless communication with students.

They approached us to build a reliable mobile app with the features they desired. Our team took a few meetings to understand their business and ideas in detail. Once we were clear on the requirements and concept, we started looking for a suitable tech stack for the app.

The app sends instant notifications for grades, attendance, and students’ progress updates. It provides real-time access to the VULCAN Journal, offering a comprehensive view of educational activities.

Planning Tests & Assignments

Students and parents can view scheduled tests, homework assignments, and upcoming deadlines. Teachers can make modifications and send notifications for schedule changes.

Messaging & Announcements

A direct messaging module allows students and parents to contact teachers. School-wide announcements keep everyone informed about important updates and events.

Parent-Focused Features

A centralized dashboard helps parents to monitor the progress of multiple children, regardless of their schools or locations. Parents can also justify absences and notify schools directly from the app.

Subscription-Based Functionalities

The app offers a subscription model for premium features like push notifications, absence management, and advanced messaging options. It provides users with extended capabilities beyond the free trial.

Multilingual Support and Localization

The app is designed with multilingual support, ensuring accessibility for users across different regions. Region-specific functionalities address the unique needs of diverse user bases.

Major Project Challenges

Since there were multiple user types with different requirements, we faced many challenges in developing an app that caters to all of them. Below are some of the significant challenges:

To protect sensitive educational and personal data, we implemented robust encryption, secure communication protocols, and GDPR compliance. We also applied many other data privacy standards, ensuring a safe platform for all users.

Based on the user volume projection, our team developed a scalable cloud-based architecture with React Native and NodeJS. As the number of users and localities grows, the app will grow to meet the client’s needs.

We also integrated multilingual support and region-specific functionalities, so the app is accessible to a diverse audience while addressing localized needs effectively.
