About The Project
JB Estates has been selling the largest, most prestigious houses as well as the smallest, most beautiful cottages in North Cornwall since 1971. They sell the majority of property and land in Rock, Daymer Bay, Polzeath, and Port Isaac, as well as other select coastal locations in North and South Cornwall.
We consulted with them and came up with a platform that is fast and responsive. Also, we wanted to make property discovery feel less like a spreadsheet and more like scrolling. We took this on not just as developers, but as partners invested in modernizing how property professionals work.
Our client wanted us to develop a platform for property sales. They wanted the latest features, such as advanced search, Google Maps with cluster locations, calendar availability, and more. What we came up with was exactly that and even better.

Advanced Search for Properties
It’s the job of a search engine to find information, in this case, about agents and buyers. We integrated an advanced search module. Now you can filter properties by location, price, category (homes, cottages, land), and more.
Social Media Sharing
One listing needs to be listed everywhere your audience is. We made it possible to share listings on social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google, and more.
Availability on the Calendar
We custom-made a booking calendar that displays property availability and reservation status at a glance. Agents can quickly identify open windows for showings without cross-referencing multiple systems.
Google Maps Integration
Google Maps integration with intelligent clustering that groups nearby properties, preventing the interface from becoming a confusing pin drop. Click the cluster, and it zooms to show individual listings. This is how modern property browsing should work.
Request Details and Viewing
Interested buyers can request property details. They can also schedule meetings on the platform to check the property. The automation guarantees that no inquiry falls through the cracks. This makes it easy to shortlist certain properties that you like.
Responsive Mobile View Design
The website has been designed to be compatible with all screens and devices. We have also designed separate mobile screen versions for a few pages. Property hunting shouldn’t stop at your desktop.
Major Project Challenges
The real estate market in their region had gotten brutally competitive. Platforms with million-dollar budgets were dominating search results and stealing market share. The old website of JB Estates couldn’t handle more than a few hundred property listings. After that, it became slow, and the search function was basically useless.
Moreover, users couldn’t filter by price ranges, locations, or amenities. But the technical debt ran deeper. They had no proper system for managing property photos, descriptions, or availability status. Agents were manually updating spreadsheets. There was no mapping or assistance for the location. Buyers had to copy addresses into Google Maps just to see where properties were located.
Their team knew they were sitting on decades of market data and customer relationships, but had no way to leverage them digitally. They were losing younger buyers who expected instant, mobile-friendly property browsing. So, they needed a solution that could scale to thousands of listings, handle big search queries easily, and give them a chance against the tech giants invading their territory.
Solutions & Impact
We built them a property search engine that actually understands what users want. Instead of dropdown menus, we implemented intelligent filtering. This made it possible to filter via location, price, property type, and more. The search runs in milliseconds, even with thousands of active listings.
Next, we optimized the database architecture specifically for real estate data patterns. For mapping, we didn’t just put on a Google Maps widget. We created a custom integration that clusters properties intelligently. It also shows availability status with color coding and provides details about the neighborhood so that buyers can make decisions easily.
Agents can now upload property details through a backend that automatically handles image optimization, SEO meta tags, and cross-platform consistency. The automated inquiry system was something new that we built. It was developed around smart routing logic that takes agent expertise, property location, and buyer preferences into account. This guaranteed that every inquiry reaches the right person within minutes.
Lastly, we made everything mobile-first. The platform now handles 2000+ properties with sub-second search performance and has cut their manual administrative work by a lot.
