Zeno Bank allows businesses to accept Bitcoin, stablecoins, and Binance Pay alongside their existing fiat checkout at a 0.1% fee. Our solution reduced merchant onboarding time and process costs.

About The Project

Zeno Bank has a competitive edge with its lower processing fees, as traditional cards charge 2.9% or more to cover fraud risks, chargebacks, and intermediary settlement costs, which don’t apply to crypto payments.

If companies remove those components, the only remaining cost will be running the infrastructure, which is small for Zeno Bank. Zeno’s positioning is 0.1% fees on crypto and 0% on Binance Pay, which works out to roughly 30x cheaper than Stripe-class gateways.

Zeno Bank approached us to build a solution consisting of a multi-chain payment detection engine that reliably tracks real-time payments across multiple blockchain platforms. Our developers built a merchant dashboard, wallet infrastructure for both modes, and the plugin ecosystem to allow non-technical merchants to integrate crypto payments within minutes. Today, the platform serves 1,000+ stores worldwide.

The payment gateway features an operations console offering live orders, payments, settlement status, conversion rates, and per-chain breakdown data.

Dual Wallet Modes

The platform offers two modes: one in which Zeno controls the wallet and keys with custodial-grade security, and the other, the Bring-Your-Own-Wallet model, in which funds settle directly to the merchant’s address.

Plugin Ecosystem

Our developers integrate native plugins and modules for WooCommerce, Easy Digital Downloads, MemberPress, PrestaShop, WHMCS, and Wix.

Project Challenges

Our major technical challenge is multi-chain reliability, as each blockchain has its own behavior, including varying finality times, reorganization behaviors, mempool dynamics, and transaction lifecycle states. A gateway that confirms payments desperately without processing often accepts transactions that never finalize; one that waits too long delivers a Stripe-killing UX. Aligning every behavior with the payment system needed an engineering expertise.

Another challenge was ensuring wallet security in managed mode. In this mode, Zeno is responsible for managing users’ crypto wallets, which means it must protect funds as a professional financial custodian would. Earlier, many companies lost customers’ money due to weak security policies. Our developers had to build a robust security system comprising multiple transaction approvals, hardware-secured keys, limits on large withdrawals, and strict operating procedures.

Our primary concern was to create an easy-to-use, widely compatible product. Zeno promises lower transaction fees than Stripe, but if the checkout process is inconvenient for users, lower fees would become irrelevant. The checkout experience, therefore, needed to feel just as fast and smooth as traditional payment systems.
